How much does it cost to fumigate a house in Costa Rica?

The price depends on three things
First, size: it is priced by built square meters, not by the amount of pests. Second, the pest: cockroaches, ants, fleas, spiders and mosquitoes are in the same package; rats are priced per installed station; termites are quoted per structure after an inspection. Third, whether it is a home or a business: a business needs a Ministry of Health certificate, a logbook and a monthly visit, and that is quoted case by case.

What any quote should include
- A pest control company licensed by the Ministry of Health (you can verify it).
- Product applied where the pest lives, not sprayed into the air throughout the house.
- A clear re-entry time: at EcoPlagas, one hour.
- If you have not fumigated in the last 6 months, it takes two applications and the second one is charged; the 30-day check only applies once the plan is complete.
- A service report with photos.
When it is worth paying more
When there are termites in the structure: that is where cheap turns out expensive, because treating only where the damage shows leaves the colony alive. And when it is a food business: the certificate and the logbook are not extras, they are what the inspector asks for.
